More Layered QPs

I love making these new kind of quick pages. The background and the cluster/border are in separate files so you can size the pieces to fit the size page you scrap: 12x12, 8x8, 8.5x11, 10x8, 8x10 or even 4x6! I'd love for you to take a peek at these in my store so you can see the different previews and examples of how easy they are to use.

NEW! Layered Quick Page - One Size Fits All

This is a new and better kind of quick page! The good part is that the background and the border layer are in two separate files so you can resize each one to fit your layout. Whether you scrap in a square or a rectangle, you can size the pieces without distortion.
This particular border was offered as Day 3 of the Digitals Birthday Bash Train Blog, so if you missed that day, now's your chance to get it. I plan on offering all the large borders that were formerly blog train freebies, so if you missed any keep an eye out for them at my Digitals store. Each layered quick page will include one background and one "bizzie border."

I am really excited about this new idea. For several years I scrapped at the 8.5x11 size page and there weren't nearly as many quick page options at that size. This new idea will make the elements much more versatile since you can resize to fit any size page you use, even brag book size.

Not Quite E-Nuff - Day 8 Blog Freebie

Hey everyone, let me take this opportunity to say thanks to all who have visited our blog and sampled our goodies. Thank you, too, to those who have left comments. This is the last day of our blog train, but it doesn't mean it will be the end of the goodies. Please check back periodically to see what I have for you. Better yet, join the Scrapville Yahoo Group to receive emails about specials or free gifts that are available. Sometimes those gifts are only for residents of Scrapville. I continue my promise to NOT flood your Inbox with ads. During regular times you will only receive a couple of emails from me a week, maybe not even that if I'm being lazy. LOL. To join just scroll to the bottom of this page and click on the "Join" button.

Today's gift is another Bizzie Border and it's from my Posie Pockets kit. I thought you needed a whimsical girl page to go with the Jake's Pockets Bizzie Border offer on day 6. ;-)

If you have missed any of the daily freebies here on the blog . . . I will be putting all the Bizzie Borders up in my store within a couple of days. I will add a background to the download to make a NEW kind of quick page.

Day 8 download link has been disabled. If you missed this freebie, it will be available in my store soon for a very reasonable price. ;-)

POLL QUESTION: Would you like a new kind of quick page?

As I've been working on the blog freebies for Digitals birthday bash, I've had an epiphany. LOL. I started thinking about quick pages and how they are usually made in a particular size, such as 12x12, 8x8, or 8.5x11, or 10x8, etc. About the only one that can really be reduced with no distortion at all is the 12x12 to an 8x8. But what about if I made these full-page borders I've been giving away AND included a background in a separate JPEG, but with the border download. That would make it possible for you to make your page any size you want, drag the background onto your document, then pull the border onto your page and size it to fit. Does that make sense? It makes total sense to me. Doing it this way allows you to use a photo as your background instead of a standard background which give a very different look to your layout.

I'd love for you to answer the poll to the left and let me know what you think.

Fun kits for kids' everyday activities

These kits are a couple of my favorites. They were inspired by my granddaughters, Sydney and Lindsey, when they were a little bit younger. They would load up their Red Flyer wagon with stuffed animals and dolls and off they'd go. With Mommy's help they might tie the wagon to their Red Flyer tricycle. A couple of years ago the girls and their friends organized a 4th of July parade in their neighborhood. They made flags and streamers for their bicycles, wagons and scooters and rode around the neighborhood (with parents close behind).

The Patriotic Kids kit and the Let's Play 8x8 Quick Album and 6x4 Brag Book are both available at Digitals. The original Let's Play kit is exclusive to the book and CD, Picture Yourself Creating Digital Scrapbooks, which can be purchased at Amazon.com for only $21.89. For that price you get a book with information and instructions on digital scrapbooking AND a CD that has a bunch of kits from Lauren Bavin, Angela Cable, Doris Castle, Roberta D'Achille, Lie Fhung, Terry Maruca and ME. ;-) Not only are there about 14-5 full digital kits on the CD, but there are also fonts, plug-ins and utilities, tutorials and much more!

My wordart designs were created to match the above kits (Patriotic Kids and Let's Play), as well as some of my other kits: Big Brother Lil' Brother; Big Sister Lil' Sister; Lil' Tag-Along; and Ladybug Garden. To find the wordart kits, click here and scroll down the page just a bit

Not Quite E-Nuff - Day 6 Blog Freebie

Does your little guy (or gal) like to collect bugs? My grandson, Jake, loves bugs and everything creepy crawley. As you might have guessed, Jake was the inspiration for my kit Jake's Pockets. I hope you enjoy the Bizzie Border made using elements from Jake's Pockets. As with all my blog freebies during the Digitals Birthday Bash, this free download does not include a background. The background shown is for preview purposes only. If you remember, in my explanation for the first download, I said these freebies are not quite enough to complete a layout but just enough to make you want to buy the kit they came from. What?! You thought this was all from the goodness of my heart? Silly you! LOL. Day 6 download link has been disabled

Not Quite E-Nuff - Day 5 Blog Freebie

Today's blog freebie comes from my series "The Most Wonderful Place on Earth: Mouse Scraps." The whimsical kits in this series are designed to help you scrap those visits to you know where. If you have photos taken at you know where, you will definitely want to check out the whole TMWPOE series. I even have two quick albums to help you complete a whole album of your photos from you know where.

As with the other daily blog freebies, this one is not quite enough to complete the page, but just enough to tease you and make you want the whole kit. Or, in this case, perhaps it will entice you to want the whole series. LOL.
Today's download includes one large (12 wide x 8.5 high) border with two transparent openings. It does not include a background.

October Scripture Wordart is Now Available

I'd love for you to join us in the Scripture Challenge at Digitals. Here's a preview of the free download you will receive. All you have to do is pick one of the scripture elements, create a layout, then post the layout and you will receive a bonus mini-kit. One of this month's elements is another "Bizzie Border," which is my new thing I'm loving to make. They are basically a quick page but without the background. Since the background is not included it actually makes the large element very versatile. You can shrink it down just a bit and it will work very nicely for a rectangle page. Of course, I'd love for you to purchase my new fall kit that coordinates with the scripture freebies, but any coordinating background will do.

Not Quite E-Nuff - Day 4 Blog Freebie

Got some heritage photos you'd like to scrap? Maybe this "Bizzie Border" will help. The elements used in this freebie are from my kit, From the Attic: Mamaw Lucy's Trunk. You may want to take a peek at my other kit in the From the Attic series, which is An Elegant Time. If you have several heritage photos to scrap you may want to consider my From the Attic: Quick Album.

Note: The background is not included in the free download . . . thus the titles "Not Quite E-Nuff." ;-) If you're just joining in the blog train, please scroll down to my first (Day 1) freebie to learn the backstory.

Day 4 download link has been disabled.

Not Quite E-Nuff - Day 3 Blog Freebie

The blog train is speeding right along. I hope you're keeping up. ;-) I hope you like today's freebie. This large border cluster will make a great element on your masculine layout. The elements from this border are from my Ruggedly Handsome and Rough Around the Edges kits. If you like masculine elements you will want to take a look at these kits.

Note: the background in the preview is not included in the free download, it is for preview purposes only.

Day 3 download link has been disabled. If you missed downloading it, the item will be in my store soon.

BB4 - Daily Card Downloads

Don't forget to pick up the free daily card download at Digitals. Here's a preview of the download for Day 3 (Oct. 3). You can find the card downloads in the Free Downloads category at Digitals.

I hope you will make a trip to my store at Digitals to see the new Christmas items I've just uploaded. The Christmas Finery kit has several "dressy" backgrounds, as well as a few "casual" ones, fancy bows and lots of greenery and poinsettias. This would be a great kit for those portraits of your family in their Sunday best.

I also have a Cluttered Clusters - Christmas Finery kit in the store. If you like busy, but still elegant clusters, you are definitely going to want these.

I've included some simple page templates in the Christmas Finery kit to make your scrapping easier. Use the templates to layer your backgrounds and make transparent openings for your photos add a few elements and journaling and you're done! Very simple, very easy, very elegant.

Don't forget that everything in my store is 30% off through October 8. Also don't forget to pick up each free daily card download at Digitals in the Free Download category.

Not Quite E-Nuff: Day 2 Blog Freebie

I hope you enjoyed the fishing freebie yesterday. Today's free download is from my new kit, Christmas Finery. You get one background and one large poinsettia and ribbon element. Almost, but not quite enough, for a page layout . . . leaves you wanting more. And more is what I have. LOL. As with all the daily downloads, they will only be available for 24 hours.

Day 2 download link has been disabled. These elements are in my kit Christmas Finery, which can be purchased at Digitals. The Cluttered Clusters - Christmas Finery is also for sale at Digitals.

Welcome to the Digitals BB4 Blog Train

Be careful! We're going to be jumping from train to train. Several of the Digitals designers (listed on the left) are participating in the blog train. Grab a big bag for all the goodies you're going to receive and hold on tight!

There's lots going on at Digitals October 1 - 8, so be sure to check the forum to see everything that's going on.

30% sale on everything in my store
Daily Card Download (from me)
Grab Bags
Scavenger Hunt
Birthday Bingo
Crops/Activities
Sponsor Prizes

Okay, here's the plan . . . I'm going to give you links for daily freebies. And in return, you're going to browse through the blog, check out the ads for some of my kits and if you like them, you're going to go to Digitals and purchase them (for 30% off the original price). When you open your download and if you like what you see, you're going to go back to Digitals and purchase the kit used to make the freebie. Okay? ;-)

My freebies are called "Not Quite E-Nuffs." They're not quite enough to make a compete layout, but they're just enough to tease you and make you want to buy the whole kit. Clever? I hope so. Fun? I hope so. Credit goes to my daughter, Kellan, for the idea. If the idea flops, the credit still goes to her. LOL.

Each daily freebie will only be up for 24 hours so be sure to come back every day. Don't worry, if you miss any of the downloads, each one will be put up for sale at Digitals when the blog train and birthday celebration are over.

Burst of Color

Fall is my favorite season of the year. To celebrate this colorful season I've created a kit called Burst of Color. And to coordinate with the kit I've designed some Cluttered Clusters. My life seems to be full of clutter very often, so I figured my scrapbooking should reflect that. LOL.

Not Quite E-Nuff: Day 1 Blog Freebie

My daughter and her husband have a little pond in the field behind their house. Their girls and my other grandkids love to go fishing back there. They are as excited to catch a little bluegill as they would be to catch a big ole bass. Their fishing expeditions to the pond was the inspiration for this kit (Hook, Line & Sinker).

So, here's my first little teaser for you. You get a background, a worn wooden frame and a fishing pole. Hopefully you won't be able to live without the whole kit. LOL. But, I hope you enjoy these whimsical elements even if you don't need the whole kit.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for a totally different style of freebie. I love making fun and whimsical kits, but I also love to make beautifully realistic kits. Come back tomorrow to see what I have for you.

Day 1 download link has been disabled. But you can purchase the kit here.

Rough Around the Edges + Freebie

I have a new kit in my Digitals store. It's called Rough Around the Edges and it is a totally masculine kit. But having said that, I was able to use the kit for pictures of two of my granddaughters and my kitty (he's masculine LOL). So, it is a very versatile kit. If you know my style of design you know that I love denim and this kit has lots of denim backgrounds.

To see the layouts I made using this kit, please go to my Digitals Gallery. On one of the pages you will find links to three different sized quick pages. There's a 12x12 QP, an 8.5x11 QP and a 10x8 QP. Grab the size you like, or grab all three sizes. You'll have to check out both pages to find the download links. ;-)

New mini-kit: Stick It! Only $1.75!

What does your bulletin board look like? Is it neat and organized? Or, does it look like mine, messy and overcrowded! My bulletin board in my computer room is full of notes and reminders, most of which are under drawings from the grandkids, which means I can't see the reminders. And of course, there are the many photos of the grandkids and our new kitty, Bob Evans (named by our granddaughter!). Then somehow I've ended up with a purple graduation tassel from one of my kids' high school graduation and a pretty bookmark that is too fancy to actually use as a bookmark. No matter whether you are a neat freak or a "Messie-Bessie," you can personalize this bulletin board any way you like for your layouts. This mini-kit was designed to be used with the August 2008 Scripture Challenge wordart/elements (see below). Through the month of August this kit is only $1.75.

August Scripture Challenge Wordart Ready for You!

I'd love for you to join me in the Scripture Challenge at Digitals. All you have to do is to use one of the verses/elements in a layout and upload it to the Digitals Scripture Challenge gallery. You get the wordart/elements free! Then if you upload a layout using one of the pieces, you get a free mini-kit. You can't beat that for a deal. Here is the Scripture wordart/elements ready for you to download in the Digitals Scripture Challenge forum. For this month only you can even win a second prize for using one of the wordart/elements pieces and a piece from my new kit in the same layout. I know it's crazy that you get so much for doing so little, but it's true! LOL. More details are in the forum so go check it out.

Aunt Ella's Pool: Flip-Flop Album

If you like flip-flops, summer and swimming, then you are going to love this album. Believe it or not, these quick pages in the shape of flip-flops can be quite versatile. You can use it as a hybrid album . . . use a pair of real flip-flops as the front and back cover . . . use the front and back cover provided . . . or use these quick pages in your regular scrapbook pages. Scroll down to check out the sample album I made as a gift to my granddaughter's little friend, Riley. She had an aloha swimming birthday party. For their party favors the little girls decorated their own pair of flip-flops. Riley's party was actually the inspiration for this album. I used the photos from Riley's party for the sample album, which I will give to Riley.

Watch for the coordinating album "Aunt Ella's Pool – Revisited," which will be available in my Digitals store very soon.

Have you met my Aunt Dorie?

Aunt Dorie was my mother's oldest sister. A kinder, sweeter woman never lived. She was a strong Christian woman who raised her two children alone after her husband died young. Some of my fondest childhood memories are spending the night with Aunt Dorie and being allowed to sleep in her big comfy feather bed. Sometimes we don't realize what a big impact a person has had on our life until we are adults with a family of our own. This was the case with my Aunt Dorie. These kits are my small way of saying, "Thanks, Aunt Dorie, I love you."

I'd love for you to check out my "Aunt Dorie's Doo-Dads" and "Dear Aunt Dorie" kits.

Merry Christmas (in July!)

Here are the final pages for your "year in review" album. I have so enjoyed your visits to Scrapville. I hope you have, too, and will come back often to our little corner of the world. If you are not already a member of our Scrapville Yahoo Group, I hope you will sign up now. Members of our group (Scrapvillians) receive periodic gifts and coupons that no one else receives. We have kept our promise to not flood your Inbox with emails and ads. We only send one or two ads a week. If you'd like to join, just scroll all the way down at the bottom of this page and click on the "join Yahoo" button.

Okay, back to Day 12 of the Polar Express Blog Train. One page shows Santa dressed in his comfortable country overalls along with his faithful country pooch. But, again, there's a plain page that would be appropriate to use with any event in December. (Day 12 has been disabled.)

From the Attic Series

My series "From the Attic" was designed especially for heritage photos (here and here), but I've also done layouts with these kits using current-day photos (here and here). These kits were my first attempt at heritage kits and I love them. But I might be a bit biased. LOL.

Polar Blog Express Train Day 11 - November

Only two more stops on the Polar Blog Express – the November pages (Day 11 has been disabled) and the December pages (Day 12). The two November pages also use elements from my kit "Fall Harvest Party." I live in Indiana and we like to tell people that there's more than corn in Indiana. But, to be honest, there is an awful lot of corn! LOL. So, a fall kit wouldn't be complete without some some stalks of corn. Here in the U.S. November is a time for Thanksgiving to celebrate our bountiful harvest. But since corn may not be a big deal where you come from, I've also given you a blank page you can use for November or for any additional page.

Thank you all for coming back day after day, I do really appreciate you.
I love having the opportunity to show you some of my "stuff!"
So . . . here's today's advertisements. ;-)

Polar Blog Express Train Reminders

Only three more days to go and then our Polar Express Blog Train comes to a screeching halt! I hope you've been able to get all the pages. If not, the complete set of pages will be available for sale at Digitals soon after July 25th. Did you find the hidden Christmas gifts at Digitals? You can go straight to my hint to find my hidden gift. This is the free mini-kit you will receive as a gift if you can find the Christmas present graphic in my store. Also don't miss out on my 25% off sale at Digitals through the 25th. It's the perfect time to stock up on those kits you now you've been wanting. ;-)
